SUMMARY:Annual Road Clean-Up
DESCRIPTION:Help us keep our neighborhoods clean and beautiful! \nJoin us for the Annual Underwood Road Clean-Up in Underwood on Saturday\, September 21st\, from 8:30 am until Noon. This year’s clean-up event is a great opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors and contribute to keeping the place we call home free of unwanted litter.  \nVolunteer participants can check in at the Community Center for street assignments between 8:00 and 8:30 am. Safety vests and bags will be provided\, but be sure to bring a pair of sturdy gloves! More information will be provided by organizers on the day of the event. \nFollowing the community clean up\, make plans to join neighbors for a friendly Bring Your Own Basket and Beverage (BYOBB) Community Picnic (details here).  \nThis event is sponsored by Friends of Underwood\, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (formerly the Underwood Community Committee).

DESCRIPTION: \n\nSkamania County Public Works is sponsoring a Small Quantity Generator Hazardous Waste collection event (pre-scheduled) and a FREE Household Hazardous Waste collection event for residents. The collection event will be held at the Stevenson Transfer Station in Stevenson on Saturday MAY 18th\, 2024. \n\n• The FREE Household Hazardous Waste collection event will operate from 10:00am to 2:00pm sharp (No containers over 5 gallons)\n\n• The Business Small Quantity Generator collection event will operate Saturday from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and is by appointment only. \nFor further information\, appointment time or disposal pricing\, please call Clean Harbors Environmental Services at (503) 742-7105. \n\nAt these Small Quantity Generator and Household Hazardous Waste collection events\, county businesses and residents will be able to drop off all hazardous waste\, with restrictions.The wastes that are NOT accepted are: NO CONTAINER OVER 5 GALLONS\, ASBESTOS\, EXPLOSIVE\, RADIOACTIVE\, OR BIOLOGICAL. \n\nExamples of Household Hazardous Wastes that WILL be accepted include:\n\nPaints\, Solvents\, Gasoline\, Flammable Liquids\, Poisons\, Corrosives\, Herbicides\, Insecticides\, Pool Chemicals\, Aerosols\, household cleaners\, Batteries\, Antifreeze and Oil.
