href=\"https:\/\/underwoodcommunity.org\/wp-ucc\/underwood-park-recreation-district-mission-vision-minutes-agendas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Underwood Park and Recreation (UPRD)<\/a> commissioner vacancy opening in January 2026. <a href=\"https:\/\/underwoodcommunity.org\/wp-ucc\/underwood-board-of-commissioners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UPRD Commissioners<\/a> play a vital role in ensuring that the Underwood Park and Community Center continue to operate efficiently and sustainably in service of our community.<\/div>\n<p><span Commissioners serve a 4-year term with elections every 2 years to stagger the influx of new commissioners. This is a volunteer position. Requirements for the position include:<\/span><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<ul>\n<li>An interest in, and commitment to, the community of Underwood;<\/li>\n<li>An ability to attend one public UPRD board meeting per month (and additional meetings if needed for special projects);<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to serving 3 volunteer hours per month in Underwood, depending on board role and level of involvement;<\/li>\n<li>An ability to help research and inform decisions related to improving and maintaining the Park, the Community Center, park buildings, sports facilities, and grounds.<\/li>\n<li>A willingness to participate in governing the Underwood Park and Recreation District.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div dir=\"auto\"> <\/div>\n<p><b><br \/>\nHOW TO APPLY<\/b><br \/>\nInterested applicants need to file their candidacy with Skamania County directly. The regular filing period has closed, but a special 3-day filing period will soon be announced. Elections will take place in November 2025. There is no filing fee with the county for this position.
