After years of use (and a few misplaced cards) it became clear that a closer look and more cards were needed.

UPRD Chair Bob Wittenburg took the lead, connecting with multiple Skamania County contacts—from former staff to Buildings & Grounds and contractors through the county—to track down information on the aging system. Along the way, it was discovered that our system, installed more than 15 years ago, was not included in a county-wide upgrade, making support and records difficult to find.

The good news is that the system is still functional, and with the County’s help, we were able to acquire five additional working key cards—saving UPRD an estimated $5,000 that a full replacement would have cost.

These types of projects may not be highly visible, but they are essential to keeping our facilities safe, reliable, and ready for the community every day. Thank you for your continued support as we continue to care for and improve UPRD spaces—both big and small.

[120

post-9779","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community-update
https://wp.me/p8Vwmh-2xJ
https://underwoodcommunity.org/wp-ucc/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Screenshot-2026-10-06-at-5.52.09-PM.png
["GET
