{"id":8881,"date":"2025-09-12T14:51:52","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T21:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/underwoodcommunity.org\/wp-ucc\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=8881"},"modified":"2025-10-06T20:01:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T03:01:13","slug":"planning-commission-workshop-public-hearing","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/underwoodcommunity.org\/wp-ucc\/event\/planning-commission-workshop-public-hearing\/","title":{"rendered":"Planning Commission Public Hearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Residents of Underwood are invited to attend a historic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skamaniacounty.org\/departments-offices\/community-development\/planning-commission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Skamania County Planning Commission<\/a> workshop and public hearing to participate, listen and learn about zoning for the last privately-owned, unmapped parcels of land in Skamania County (located in Underwood).<\/p>\n<p>In advance of the hearing, attendees are encouraged to <a href=\"https:\/\/underwoodcommunity.org\/wp-ucc\/unmapped-lands-underwood-washington-zoning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">read more about the zoning options currently being discussed<\/a> and consider how various zoning designations may affect quality of life, property values, the environment, or any other variable that&#8217;s important to your family. The result of this zoning decision is a significant one, as it will determine how land will be used for generations to come.<\/p>\n<p>The Planning Commission workshop (open to the public and recommended) starts at 5:30 pm. The public hearing will begin at 6:15 pm. Both will take place at the Skamania County Courthouse Annex Building in the Lower Meeting Room. Residents who would like to make a public comment may do so at the meeting. Public comments are limited to 3 minutes each.
