I hope everyone has had a chance to read through the UPRD Newsletter that was delivered to your mailbox Tuesday. There are some exciting things happening at our Park Center Building! In addition, within the next week Nate Clarke Painting will be painting the inside of the gym. We are going with a bright white and it will be fun to see how much better the gym looks.
One project that has had a lot of buzz in the community the past few years, is a walking trail around the 5-acre property. Wouldn’t it be great to have a trail to walk your dogs on OR off leash?! The UPRD will be working on constructing the walking trail around the property and we are in need of some help! If you have some free time, want some exercise, like getting your hands dirty and want to help out: We need you!! The dates we have planned for working on this project so far are:
- Tuesday April 23rd, from 10-? – We will need: PEOPLE, chainsaws, gloves, shovels, rakes! We will be working on cleaning up the brush along Cook Underwood Road where the trail will be. This is a very bushy area with lots of dead trees and shrubs.
- Saturday April 27th, from 10-? – After you get your belly full of pancakes at the Firehall, skip across the street to help with the trail. We will have a few tractors tractors to help move bark chips for the walking path but will need bodies to help spread the chips. Please be sure to bring gloves and a rake.
If you have any questions about this project feel free to contact Alicia – aliciauprd@gmail.com. We look forward to the community coming together and making this project happen!
