About Friends of Underwood (FOU)

Established in February 2024, Friends of Underwood (FOU) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operates under the bylaws established by the FOU board. The organization serves as the fundraising arm for projects and initiatives of the UPRD and acts as a liaison between the community and the UPRD, promoting communications and volunteer engagement.

Preserve the past, enrich the present, and plan for the future. ​ To serve as a means of communication and collaboration for residents. ​To preserve and enrich the quality of life in Underwood. ​To perform outreach, community events, and fundraisers. ​

Current Fundraising Goal

Friends of Underwood is working to raise $50,000 for the Playground Project by August 1, 2025.

When Friends of Underwood reaches the $50K mark, a generous local donor has agreed to match that funding with another $50,000. This would bring our total budget for the Playground Project to $100K, and if we meet these benchmarks by August 1, 2025, the new play structures will be installed in 2026. It’s opportunity we can’t afford to miss!
