Thank You to Malcolm Brown
For providing the sound system for our Annual Community picnic. Malcolm has a business called Gorge Sound and Light (Find it on Facebook), but he often volunteers for Underwood Park events.
Lisa Brown, UCC treasurer reports that we made $660 on the dessert auction. Thank you to the bakers and fruit growers who donated items and to UCC President Cam Thomas who was the auctioneer. About 70 Underwood residents enjoyed the salmon donated by the LaMottes, Dickey Farm’s corn on the cob donated by the Fredricksons and hot dogs donated by the Kapps and LaMottes, and the many delicious side dishes brought by the attendees.
Candidate’s Night
Tuesday, October 9 at 6:30
The Underwood Council has invited county, state and national candidates to present their campaign speeches at the Park building. Attendees will have an opportunity to write a question to be given to the candidates. Those running for office in the November 6 primary election may stay around afterwards to visit with people. Also on the agenda will be a presentation on the Underwood Park and Rec levy vote. (Sound provided by Malcolm Brown)
Council Bylaws
The revised bylaws will be voted on at the November 1 council community meeting. You can find the current bylaws and the proposed changes on the website: underwoodcommunity.org . Look under the menu for Community Council. The bylaws have not been updated for 6 years, so this is important. You can print a copy and bring it with you to the meeting.
