Keep Watch for Your Ballot in the Mail

Early voting in the State of Washington start on October 18, 2024 and that means, it’s time to keep watch for ballots arriving in your mailbox! Our community has a very important measure on the ballot this month. One that will significantly impact the future of our Community Center and Park. For this reason, Friends of Underwood and neighborhood supporters are urging all residents to:

VOTE YES ON PROPOSITION # 1

Our Community Center is more than a building. It’s the heart of our community. If Proposition #1 does not pass, the park district will no longer be able to serve Underwood in its current capacity — nor will it be able to continue plans for making our community center the only emergency evacuation facility in east county. Want to know more about what this measure will mean to you? Read our comprehensive list of FAQ’s at the link below.

Where to Drop Ballots in Underwood?

The very best place to drop your ballot is into the official ballot box at the Underwood Community Center. Located on the east end of the parking lot in front of the center itself, dropping your ballot into the designated ballot box before 8 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 will ensure your vote will be counted.

Can I Drop My Ballot into the Underwood Mailbox?

Yes, but you must be sure to drop it off in time to be postmarked no later than Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024. This is a really important consideration, especially in Underwood. Each year, there are a handful of signed ballots that cannot be counted because they were dropped into the USPO mailbox after the last collection time on Election Day. Our advice? Play it safe! Use the official ballot box in front of the Community Center.
