Underwood’s Own – Saying Goodbye to Thomasina Campbell

We’re saying goodbye to our grandmother—Thomasina Campbell, a woman who did things her way and never once asked for permission.

She was sharp, resilient, and about as strong-willed as they come. A proud Republican who stood her ground, spoke her mind, and could probably win an argument before you even realized you were in one.

She loved her family fiercely and built a legacy that speaks for itself. She is survived by her 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of us lucky enough to have been raised (and occasionally set straight) by a true Southern spitfire.

She outlived all three of her children, which says a lot about her strength—and maybe a little about her stubbornness too.

If you knew her, you know she wouldn’t want a bunch of long faces. She’d want us to keep going, stand up for what matters, and maybe have the last word while we’re at it.

She’ll be missed, but her spirit?
That’s not going anywhere.
