Meet your Underwood Park and Recreation District Commissioners!
After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in Economics, and a stint as a ski bum in Telluride, I spent 40 years working in construction equipment sales and distribution. My wife Robin and I purchased a home in Underwood in 2012, remodeled it, and moved to Underwood full time. We both appreciate the sense of community we found here and regard the UPRD to be a wonderful community asset
Bob came to Underwood in 2001, when he became our PUD Manager. He held this position for 10 years, and is very familiar with both our water and electric systems. He sees the UnderwoodPark and Post Office as the center of our community, and thinks they must be preserved.

Alicia has lived in the Underwood community since 2009! She’s a stay at home mother of 3 very energetic and busy young children (ages 6, 8, and 10). She has an Education Masters and a love for teaching. I see great potential for the Underwood Park and Recreation District, and look forward to continuing to be a part of developing programs for our community!

Tina is the newest member of the Commission and moved to Underwood in January 2017, she has lived in The Gorge for 10 years and works as an Insurance Agent at Columbia River Insurance in Hood River focusing on Commercial policies. She was a mortgage broker in Lake Oswego and started her career in High Tech. She has a Business Degree from Denver University. “I wanted to buy land close to the Community Center because that’s where the people gather, I look forward to broadening the scope of what’s offered for everyone’s benefit.”

Vern moved to the Gorge area and Underwood in 2012 and is currently employed with First Interstate Bank. As a Past-Rotary President of the White Salmon-Bingen Club, he’s been active is supporting the community and its residents. His life experience growing up in a rural farm community in Iowa, is his foundation to work to improve and maintain the Underwood Community Center and its recreation area for all ages.
